1. Introduction

SolveMeSenpai ("we", "our", "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our service.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

When you use SolveMeSenpai, you may provide math, chemistry, or physics problems in text or image form. These inputs are processed to generate solutions. Text inputs are sent to our backend for LLM-based processing. Image inputs may be sent to OpenAI Vision for interpretation.

IP address

We collect your IP address to enforce our credit-based rate limiting system (50 free solves per day). Your IP is stored in Redis with a 24-hour TTL and is automatically deleted after that period. We do not use your IP for tracking, profiling, or advertising.

Session context

When you have a multi-turn conversation, we temporarily store session context server-side for up to 30 minutes so that follow-up questions can reference previous results. Sessions are identified by a random UUID and contain no personal information.

Local storage

Your theme preference (light/dark/system) is stored locally in your browser. No solve history is stored locally in this version — all processing is server-side.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To monitor and prevent abuse of the service
  • To fix bugs and improve user experience

4. Third-Party Services

Certain features use third-party services:

  • OpenAI — Your text inputs are processed through OpenAI's API (via an LLM) to understand intent, select computation tools, and generate answers. Image inputs may be processed through OpenAI Vision for interpretation.

These services have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.

5. Data Retention

IP addresses are stored in Redis for up to 24 hours for rate limiting and are automatically purged. Session context is stored for up to 30 minutes and then discarded. We do not maintain long-term databases of user queries or solutions.

6. Your Rights

Since IP-based credit data is automatically purged within 24 hours and session context within 30 minutes, there is minimal personal data retained. Your theme preference can be cleared by resetting your browser's site data.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption for all API communications. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
